Secrets and Lies

What do I have to say?
To sell? My heart
Can’t tell the difference,
And my head’s not clear.

Why am I open-eyed,
Still fresh, when life
At best, has lived
Beyond my years?

The ebb and flow of
What we know of
Catches me unawares.
It’s in a blink that
All I think has
Sunk, and I’m left scared.

What do I have to say,
To sell, to convince you
Well that I’m worth the cost?
If you don’t buy in,
Purchase my sin, we will
Never redeem what we’ve lost.

What I’ve thrown away.
What can I say?
It’s a hard sell.
Please forgive me.
