Distance, Time, and Love

AWAY FROM YOU

I drove forty miles
West with the sun,
Forty more miles
Away from you.
On different roads,
Through new towns,
A drive with no
Purpose, nor end.
The road to you
Never felt so long,
Forty miles east.
Did love bend space,
Warp time, for us?
I drove forty miles
Away from you.
How long have I
Been gone?
