I Can Be Quite Naive

BURIED TREASURE

I dig into the earth. No treasure found.
No promised riches, hidden just for me.
Believing you, I traded love, spellbound.
You moaned your thanks to earth, expecting me
To face the sky alone, not feel the ground
Hard against my spine. I will not weep.
I’ll dig. You must have buried me too deep.
